In the era of rapid digital transformation, cyber and cyber-physical systems are evolving with increased connectivity and complexity. This interconnectedness and a surge in individuals entering the cyber world have expanded the vulnerability to cyber-attacks. The reliance on complex deep learning models and the emergence of quantum computing architectures further intensify the security challenges. The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and the Technical University of Darmstadt (TU Darmstadt) are organizing this Winter School to address these concerns. This program offers a week-long training program on securing modern cyber systems, focusing on Security and Privacy of AI, featuring lectures by esteemed researchers and academics. The program is open to advanced students in computer science and related fields who are interested or specialize in cybersecurity and privacy. Students from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply, fostering inclusivity in learning and teaching. Participants from partner universities in the US and Canada are also eligible to join.
The CyberAI Winter School 2023 will be held in the Weston Conference Center located inside UTSA's San Pedro I building in Downtown San Antonio, Texas. San Pedro I houses the UTSA School of Data Science and the National Security Collaboration Center (NSCC), and can be found in close proximity to the charming River Walk in San Antonio. Participants will have the opportunity to leisurely walk along verdant riverside trails adorned with towering trees, and explore a variety of eateries, stores, and museums, all while immersing themselves in the rich historical significance of iconic landmarks like The Alamo.
