Bio
I am a third year PhD Student at UTSA and an active duty Major in the United States Army. Following my time at UTSA I will be assigned to the United States Military Academy at West Point as a Computer Science instructor. In the Army I serve as an Operations Research and Systems Analyst (Army way of saying Data Scientist), previously operating as a Cyber officer (17A) and originally commissioning as an Air Defense Artillery officer (14A). I have a strong background in cyber security, having been assigned to Army Cyber Command from 2016-2023. I have practical experience in applied cyber security analytics, leading incident response teams, commanding a 200 person Cyber Company, and providing data driven analysis to inform strategic level decisions. As an Air Defense Artillery officer I served as a platoon leader, executive officer, and operations planner in a Patriot missile unit, including time at Ft. Bliss, TX, Ft. Sill, OK, Osan AB, Korea, and one deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Outside of computing, I enjoy sports of all kinds, astronomy, astrophotography, and spending time with my family. I am delighted for this opportunity to continue my education and to join the talented team at UTSA and SPriTELab!
